The ceremony will be held at the Dusshera ground in Panchkula at 10 a.m on October 17; Incumbent Nayab Singh Saini is in all probability set to be the next CM of the State

After securing the majority seats in the Haryana Assembly election, the new Bharatiya Janata Party government will be holding the swearing-in ceremony on October 17 in Panchkula.

In a statement, the Haryana unit of BJP said: “The swearing-in ceremony of the Haryana government will be held on October 17, 2024 at 10 am at Dussehra ground in Panchkula.”

PM to attend

Senior party leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Chief Ministers of other States will be attending the ceremony, it said.

Separately, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said, “We have received the nod of the Prime Minister. The oath-taking ceremony of the Chief Minister and his Council of Ministers will take place in Panchkula on October 17.”

The ruling BJP had retained its decade-long power in Haryana with a third straight win in the just-concluded Assembly polls by winning 48 seats in the 90-member State Assembly. The party later got a boost with all three Independents announcing their support, effectively bringing the BJP’s numbers in the newly constituted House to 51.

Incumbent Nayab Singh Saini, who was appointed as Chief Minister by replacing Mr. Khattar earlier this year, is in all probability set to be the next Chief Minister of the State yet again. His name, however, will be formally decided by the BJP’s parliamentary board.
